CDP is a specialised entity with a narrowly defined scope of business activities as provided for by law and by the Articles of Association of CDP Spa.
Change of legal status in December 2003 did not materially change the business model of the company, that continues to be mainly focused on financing Italian public-sector investments and infrastructure projects related to the provision of local public services.
Following its transformation, CDP established two operational areas within the same legal entity to manage public-mandate and market-oriented activities separately for accounting and organisational purposes in compliance with EU competition rules. More
In addition to finance public sector entities and manage State-guaranteed postal savings, CDP is also entrusted with the management of strategic equity stakes transferred by the Italian State as well as the funding of various domestic development programmes and other public interest projects on the government’s behalf.
