Giovanni Gorno Tempini

 

 

Since May 2010 Giovanni Gorno Tempini is Chief Executive Officer of “Cassa Depositi e Prestiti” S.p.A.

 

Since August 2011 he is President of Fondo Strategico Italiano.


Previously he served as General Manager and Board Member of Mittel Group from November 2007 to May 2010, Deputy Chairman of Sorin S.p.A., Chairman of the Board of Hopa S.p.A. and member of the Management Board of A2A S.p.A..

Prior to joining Mittel Group, he was Head of Finance and Treasury of  Banca Intesa (now Intesa Sanpaolo) from 2006 to 2007 and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Banca Caboto (now Banca IMI) from 2001 to 2005.

He began his career at JP Morgan in 1987 working on Fixed Income Trading. From 1992 to 2001 he held a wide range of managerial positions at JP Morgan in Milan and London, with responsibility for Italian Markets Activities, Fixed Income Trading, Emerging Markets, East European, 
Middle East and Africa Local Markets and European Government Bonds.

 

Former professor at “Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC” University of Castellanza (Varese).

His past responsibilities include serving as Chairman of the "Commissione Tecnica per la Finanza" (Financial Technical Committee) of ABI (Italian Banking Association) from 2006 to 2007, Board Member of Borsa Italiana S.p.A. from 2001 to 2007, MTS (European Bond Exchange) from 2001 to 2006, EuroMTS (2002-2006) and ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) from 2006 to 2007. He was member of the Board of AIFI (Italian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association) until May 2010.

Giovanni Gorno Tempini is a graduate in Business Economics at Bocconi University.
